CCAmanda is
our June
CosVisionary
Tell us
a little about your cosplay life, and what it means to you?
I have loved anime since I saw "Cardcaptors". I knew it was a dub, but I
wondered what it was like in japanese. I found "Cardcaptor Sakura" (a.k.a. the
japanese version) and watched that. After that I was hooked on anime again and
have been ever since. As for the cosplay, I started back in 1998 when the Pokemon mania was in full
swing. I decided I wanted to be Misty, and since my two cousins loved Pokemon
as well, they cosplayed Ash and Pikachu. Every Halloween after that I'd
cosplay as something different. Then I found out about anime conventions. I had
wanted to attend Otakon '03' but my mother refused, so we ended up attending Big
Apple Anime Fest '03'. Since then I've made so many friends (whom I now attend
cons and cosplay with), and have been cosplaying at cons ever since (11 cons
to be exact and counting). Cosplay is a fun hobby and a way to meet many
different people. I love cosplay and hope to do many more costumes and attend more
cons!!
Lani from Final Fantasy IX:
This costume has to be my favorite one as of right now. It took about a month
to do this costume. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of my
dad. We altered a sweater, shoes, belts, and pants for this. The rest was sewn (I
did the designs on the top and skirt, the headband, and the gradient job on the
feather as well!) ^_^. I LOVE Final Fantasy IX and couldn't believe it was so
undercosplayed, so I looked for characters to cosplay to Otakon. I originally
wanted to do Eiko but, I ended up settling on Lani. Why? Her outfit is very
unique compared to the other characters in the game, and her personality is
funny. And besides Lani is a villain and Final Fantasy villains are cool ^_~.. |

Kurai from Angel Sanctuary:
My friend cosplayed as Lucifer and I was apalled by his costume. So I was
surprised to hear it was from an anime my friend had shown me called "Angel
Sanctuary". I thought it would be cool to cosplay with him so I decided to do
Kurai. I did her outfit that you only see in one page of the manga and for about 5
seconds in the show. I fell in love with the outfit when I saw it so why not
do it? This is another one of my favorite costumes. I got to be a tomboy and I
got to be all demon-ish, and best of all lots of photo ops with my friend (we
ended up in Animerica with our Angel Sanctuary costumes!!). |

Kin from Naruto:
I told myself I would never cosplay a character from Naruto....oops I lied
XD. I love Naruto, and I think Kin is an awesome character. She only appears in
a couple episodes, but I wanted to be a Narutard with my friends and decided
to do her. This is the first costume we sewed pants for ^_^. I love the pants!
I made the headband, I altered a long sleeved sweatshirt for the vest, the
armguards were socks, and I did the shoe covers among other things. I had no wig
the first time I wore this, but I found one of my old Halloween wigs and used
it for the wig. This is a very comfortable costume and I love music and what
do you know? Kin is a sound nin ^_^!! |

CCAmanda, keep on cosplaying since
you love doing it so much. Good luck with your future costumes
since Im sure they'll turn out just as nice as your resent ones.
