Sana-chan is
our April
CosVisionary
Tell us
a little about your cosplay life, and what it means to you?
I've been cosplaying since 1998 and still going! It's a fun and silly dorky hobby that I really enjoy doing and I'm sure will continue to do so in the future. For me cosplaying is just an outlet for me to express not only my (lack of) sewing abilities lol, but my love for the characters. Being able to recreate a character I really like makes me happy. I'm such a dork lol. There's still lots of things I need to work on... everything I make is ghetto, but as long as I'm having fun and doing what I can... that's all that matters ^_^. Cosplaying is all about having fun! That's why "play" is in it ^_~v.

Yuna from Final Fantasy X:
As cliche as it sounds, Yuna is definately one of my favorite video game characters. If it says anything, I've remade this outfit 3 times just because I wanted to make it to the best of my (lack of) abilities. I love Yuna very much and she is my favorite Final Fantasy character. The design on the obi and the skirt was all hand painted and because SomethingLulu and I are insane, it's even embellished with shading and highlights. I'm just trying to be a tad original there. Lots of back pain went into making this costume. This most definitely is my favorite costume and I've been bringing it to cons with me ever since. My Yuna rod is somewhat heavy so I don't usually bring it with me. I'm very happy that I've gotten such a wonderful response from this costume. I still need to remake the sleeves, though. |

Zelda from Ocarina of Time:
Princess Zelda was always something I wanted to do... so I'm very glad I finally got around to it! It's really extra fun cosplaying with my good friends Richii and PikminLink. I've never made armor before so... this was a very interesting project lol. It came out alright, I guess, though I'd like to remake it out of something more sturdy. Mada mada da ne. I really like being Zelda, because like all my characters I cosplay... she's one that I love, but I tend to get headaches in this outfit for some reason
lol. |

Uzumaki Naruto from Naruto:
I love Naruto to death! There's a lot I can relate with for Naruto and I had to cosplay him. I have so much fun being Naruto and as simple as it is, it's quickly become my favorite costume. Instead of having bright yellow hair, I decided to go for a more natural color. I'm a Narutard. I think my favorite parts of this costume would be my ninja shoes and collar >D... and of course just being Naruto! This outfit is really comfortable. The pants were a pain in the butt to make though. |

Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist:
Another character I love to pieces! Edo is such an amazing, beautiful, silly, yet strong character with buns of steel! And FMA was a beautiful show (can't wait for the movie!!). I really wanted to be Ed, but didn't want to cosplay him without the automail. My good friend Lionel then made me the automail arm as a present! I was so happy and being Ed of course makes me happy XD. I'm such a dork... yes yes. I think my fave thing about this, aside from being Ed and having that sexy automail Lionel made me cuz he rules, is my "tree" in my hair. Some people call it "tweak" "cow-lick" "antenna"... whatever lol. It's fun.
Also I'm short like Ed... actually I'm shorter then Ed. He's 5'4" and I'm 5'2". -_-v |

Orochimaru from Naruto:
Orochimaru is a FREAK. But I love him anyway. He's so scary and twisted. Oh oh Oreo. I'm fifty! Looking back at the pictures I'm surprised how much it doesn't look like me. Well... it does, but it doesn't? I don't know how to explain lol. Now if only my tongue was super long like his. It really is fun making myself all white and creepy looking. As simple as this outfit is, I really like cosplaying
Orochimaru. |

Gaara from Naruto:
Yet another Naruto costume lol. Gaara is one of my favorite Naruto characters... so of course I had to cosplay him. Believe it or not, the gourd actually isn't that heavy. It's only about 10lbs, but the only annoying thing about it is the way it's attached on my back lol. Gotta figure out another way for it. I really like the make-up for this one because everyone thinks I shaved my eyebrows even though I didn't lol. We used this eyebrow plastic make-up to cover them up! |
