Convention Report for FanimeCon 07
written

Fanime Con was an excellent convention. There was allot to see and do and plenty of action to go around, being that this is an Anime, Fantasy, or anything goes kind of con. As always, the Convention was located at the San Jose Convention Center, in downtown San Jose with the Hilton and The Marriot on both sides of the convention center, and also several other hotels near by so the tired attendee can get some seep close by.
As with every convention there were some positive and negative points.
Some of the positive points included a huge convention room space , places for fans to get snacks and drinks, Huge Exhibit Hall, a Huge 24hour game room with gaming tables, a large dealer room with over 100 vendors, Artist alley, several 24 hour video anime rooms, panels, Guests of Honor, Great surrounding locations and photo spots, Masquerade, and a truly wonderful Black and White dance ball, which played nice music to dance to. The convention itself was a 24 hour con, so there was plenty of time to see and do everything and be with friends. The security and weapons policy didn’t seem as harsh as usual so that really helped allot.
There were not really much negative points to this convention. Some minor points included some events, and panels overlapping each other, The food of course was expensive and people had to walk a couple of blocks for less expensive food. The judging for the masquerade took a long time, but the masquerade was fun, so it made it worth while.
The Convention was a great success and allot of fun. The location was excellent to host the convention; the staffs for the convention were both nice and friendly. These points made Fanime 2007 a great convention to attend. |
