Convention Report for MikomiCon 2006

This
Convention was the first annual convention for MicomiCon
and it turned out to be a great convention. The staff and
volunteers did an excellent job of putting this convention
together and made it run great and organized. There was
plenty to go around; being that this is an Anime, Sci-fi
and Gaming convention. The Convention was located at the
California State University Northridge campus in
Northridge, Ca.
As with
every convention there were some positive and negative
points.
Some of
the positive points included, huge convention room space ,
several restaurants on campus for fans to get snacks or
drinks, some stores on campus, a good size video game room
, gaming table room, a large dealer room, Artist alley,
panels, Guests of Honors, Great surrounding locations and
photo spots, karaoke, Masquerade.
Some of
the negative points included, the hotel
for the convention was 5 minute drive away, but they
didn't have much of a choice since it was the nearest
hotel to the convention. Good food was
hard to find, Only one shop stayed open during the weekend
and the food wasn't great but also not cheap, including
drinks.
The
Convention was a great success; the location was excellent
to host the convention, the staffs for the convention were
both nice and friendly. These points made MicomiCon a fun
convention to attend.
