Convention Report for SiliCon 2006

SiliCon
turned out to be a great convention. There was plenty of
action to go around, being that this is an Anime, Fantasy,
or anything goes kind of con. Just as last year, the
Convention was located at the San Jose Doubletree Hotel.
There were also several other hotels near by.
As with
every convention there were some positive and negative
points.
Some of
the positive points included, huge convention room space ,
a on-site restaurant to
get meals and drinks, a large dealer room, Artist alley,
panels, Guests of Honor, belly dancers, Great surrounding
locations and photo spots, Masquerade. There was plenty of time to
see and do everything and be with friends and several room
parties – something SiliCon is known for.
Some of
the negative points regarding the convention included, The
hotel food
was expensive but alright, had to walk a couple of blocks for less
expensive food. We could not set up our Studio since the
convention could not get us an enclosed room, we apologize
for the inconvenience to the cosplayers.
Overall
the Convention was a great success; the location was
excellent to host the convention, the staffs for the
convention were both nice and friendly. There was also a
calm smooth atmosphere at the con. These points made
SiliCon a great convention to attend as always
