Convention Report for Wonder Con 2006
written by Master Jedi

Wonder con turned out to be, in my opinion a great convention. This was the 20th Annual Wonder con event. There was plenty of action to go around, being that this is a Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Anime or anything goes kind of con. Just as last year, but this year the convention was located at a new location, The Moscone Center West. There were several hotels near by so the tired cosplayers can get some seep in their rooms.

As with every convention there were some positive and negative points.

Some of the positive points included, More convention room space at the new location, a place for registered fans to get snacks or drinks, HUGE Exhibit Hall, gaming tables, a video anime room, a schedule of all the events, gatherings and locations was conveniently printed out by the convention, which really helped the fans find what they were looking for. Great surrounding locations and photo spots like the Yerba Buena Gardens, The Sony Metreon, all in close walking distance. A second Annual Masquerade. Autograph area, Portfolio Review where companies can interview you for a job in the industry, And of course a huge array of costumes to add to the experience.

Some of the negative points regarding the convention included, some events, panels overlapped each other, there was a lot to see and do, not enough convention time to do it. The convention closed at 7pm, 9pm after the masquerade. Too short of a con. The judging for the masquerade took a long time. A man who called himself the property manager at the Yerba Buena Gardens was very rude with us while taking pictures at the waterfall, which the security allowed us to do. The property manager told us in an unprofessional tone to get off his rocks. We found his tone and attitude to be very offensive.
Overall the Convention was a great success; the location was excellent to host the convention, the staffs for the convention were both nice and friendly. These points made Wonder Con 2006 a great convention to attend.
